Flight Review: VA 873 – SYD – MEL

I am sitting in Business Class seat 2A, having received a last minute upgrade, on this Boeing 737-800 Virgin Airlines flight bound for Melbourne from Sydney.

Boarding is grouped for Business, Platinum & Gold Velocity frequent flyer members together, so there is a bit of a mad rush.

Once onboard the Chief Purser introduces herself and offers a choice of still water of sparkling wine. Of course I have the water.

The seat is a larger sized domestic business class seat but doesn’t recline much, unlike the A330s which convert into a bed. No point really for a 90 min flight I guess.

Shortly after take off she comes around again and asks us if we would like the Gong Pau Beef or Vegetable Curry- I choose the former. It comes plated with some cheese and a chocolate. It’s ok.

For the remainder of the short flight I watch The Crown on my iPad.
