Flight Review: BR196 – TPE – NRT

I am supposed to be sitting in seat 42K – a window seat, on this EVA Airlines Airbus A330-300 flight bound for Tokyo from Taipei, but someone is sitting in my seat and I don’t want to cause a fuss so sit next to him in the aisle instead. The seat is fine and has a good recline, and an ‘OK’ sized video screen, but limited entertainment available. Not to worry, it’s only a little over a 2-hour flight.

Shortly after take-off and a little snooze, dinner is served and it is really good. Especially the dessert which is a very strong flavored tea mousse. Even the bread roll is warm and soft. I’m impressed. EVA air is one of the few airlines I know that offer decaffeinated coffee in economy class and have one after my meal.

I watch a couple of TV programs – there is literally nothing interesting in the movie section, and then doze off again for 45 mins or so before the captain announces our descent into Narita.

We land before scheduled arrival time.
