I am sitting in seat 4H, an aisle seat – the first row of ‘Scoot Silence’ behind ‘Scoot Biz’ on this Scoot Airways Boeing 787 flight bound for Singapore from Athens. My original seat was 30H, but when I went to pick up my boarding pass at the check-in counter, I asked if there were any ‘Scoot Biz’ seats available. Although there were none, she said I was very polite an upgraded me to the front with 50% extra leg room 🙌.

The flight itself goes faster than I thought it would. Eleven hours seem to race by. For the first couple of hours I watch a couple of movies I downloaded onto my iPad, eat half a wrap I brought onboard, and mix a hot chocolate sachet with a hot water I request from the flight attendant.

For the reminder of the flight I manage to sleep – on and off, but enough to not have sore eyes when we are told to prepare for landing.

I had though Scoot would be awful and a bad choice, but all 3 flights so far have been fine.
