Hotel Review: Hilton Sinban, Taipei

I have booked this hotel for an overnight staycation with my partner on the Hhonors app for around $150 plus 10K Hhonors points.

The room booked is a standard King room, but as a Diamond Hhonors member we are upgraded to an Executive Suite with Lounge access, free breakfast, and late 3pm check-out.

The room is around 55 Sqm with separate lounge room, 2 flatscreen TVs, large bathroom with bathtub. There is a Nespresso machine but no decaf pods (I’ll get to this later).

During our stay we go up to the roof to use the pool, but it is insanely crowded so leave and go to the gym instead. In the evening we enjoy the dinner provided in the lounge and sit on the terrace outside which is quite lovely with chill music playing.

The next morning we have breakfast in the main restaurant on the second floor. It’s not too crowded and the food selection is good, but both my partner and I have stomach troubles about an hour after breakfast and it could be the catalyst but can’t confirm. I ask for decaf coffee but they don’t have any (they do have it in the lounge). After breakfast I go to the lounge to ask for a takeaway decaf but they reply that they don’t have take away cups. I ask if I can use the cup from the lounge and they say I can’t. They say if I go back to my room and get a cup from the room and bring it up to the lounge then they will fill it up with decaf coffee and I can then take it back to my room. So I do that.

Twenty mins later I am drinking decaf coffee in my room 😅.

Besides the coffee and the upset stomach, the stay is good. Room is great. Location (Banciao) is great.
